Roman Baths
Originally built as a temple to the Goddess Sulis Minerva, the Roman Baths grew around the natural hot spring to become a place of rest, relaxation, and healing. As well as the stunning Roman architecture, on display are thousands of Roman objects unearthed around the site over the years. You’ll be left amazed and fascinated by the incredible history and innovation at one of the most important Roman sites in Europe.
Bath
If you choose to explore the city itself, then you’ll find a wonderful blend of architecture from centuries of British history. Particularly noteworthy are the Georgian terraces and townhouses that made the city one of Britain’s most popular tourist spots for generations. Walk in the footsteps of characters from the novels of Jane Austen and grab some souvenirs from the many delightful shops and boutiques.
Stonehenge
We leave Bath and journey onto another of Britain’s best historical treasures. The amazing sight of the standing stones, built by our Neolithic ancestors, still carry a sense of mystery, and wonder today. Discover the secrets of the stones with our interactive audio guide, learning more about who built Stonehenge, and how they managed it with rudimentary tools made of wood and stone.
Then go beyond the stones themselves at the world-class Stonehenge visitor centre. You’ll discover more about Neolithic society, see the objects that they used in their everyday lives, and come face to face with a 5,500-year-old-man.
